Boy’s $12 monster drawings help fund his chemo

Hello fellow human beings,

Since Sept. 13, Aidan has been waging a battle against a monster that is all too real. That’s when doctors discovered he has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He’s spent weeks in the hospital and has endured chemotherapy, infections, spinal taps and other painful procedures.

To pass the time, he draws pictures of monsters. Dozens and dozens of them. Aidan’s drawings are so adorably scary that his aunt decided to post some of them on the website Etsy, where people buy and sell handmade artwork and other items. She wanted to do something — anything — to help Aidan and his family from a distance, so she figured she’d try to sell 60 prints to help defray their sudden and mounting expenses.

Sliding down to your train is fun!

Remember how cool the staircase piano was? This is pretty sweet as well. I'd be sliding down this thing all day. There was a slide at my old gym, it went from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor. Not as cool as this one though. The one at my old gym was a tube style spiral slide that was way too hard to get speed on it, and once you got all sweaty from working out, you'd end up just sticking through out most of the slide. This one is definitely cooler.

The algorithm of how this video was created was that it keeps the previous frame/image underneath any current movement/frame. The lingering ghost image is born. Tim Rogers and Bob from Bob's Games were brought into our booth at GDC because we were playing AB Bingo. Have you ever noticed that movie trailers are pretty formula? This video really shows this well. As I watched this, I would have flashes of past movies that I've seen that follow this format. These guys did a really good job on the recreation. Well played.
