NBC Universal at Lincoln Hall

Holy crap, was this event a BLAST! We were honored and ecstatic to be invited back to shoot NBC Universal’s event again this year. You guys always know how to get the party started, and are never afraid to try new poses and crazy tricks for the camera. Remember those guys who dove across the room to get a horizontal shot? That was hilarious! But, let me back up a little bit…

Aside from the awesome fact that this venue has the most wonderful staff and crew, Lincoln Hall is one of our all-time favorite places to shoot at. We were kindly welcomed back and were invited to set up our booth on the balcony level near the upstairs bar (shout out to Abby, the bartender, for hooking it up with h2O all night).  We were a crew of five on October 8th: Joe, Liz, Tim, Nikki, and Jaime in full ninja force, ready to do some standard ActionBooth butt-kicking.

During my time with the company, I’ve found that one of the most incredible parts about working for ActionBooth, is being able to actually experience some parts of the events we shoot. Being able to watch Hey Champ and Tanlines perform special sets was the coolest!

A special thank you to Alaina for always bringing fun energy to the booth and encouraging guests to participate. You guys brought some of the most colorful props really worked well with our exposed brick background. The bowties on sticks were my personal favorite, but the crazy wigs and hats were by far the biggest hits of the night! Some of our favorite photos of the event included people being “picked up” by their shirt collars, cross-legged meditation poses, and jumpers “standing” on another’s finger.

As one of our most successful events this month, and with so many great people, how could we not  call it one of our favorites? We are so grateful to NBC Universal for bringing us back to their event and for working with us to ensure that all of their guests had the best time possible. We hope to see you again next year!

Class of Whenever Reunion

First off, if you haven't been to your class reunion yet but went to ours, we are sorry for spoiling you. Yours will probably be not as cool as ours was.

To recap, we at ActionBooth held another one of our Real Events | Fake Reasons events. If you didn't guess what our theme was this time was a fake class reunion. We believe that most reunions are only cool if you got along with the people you went to school with and actually have something to show with your life since high school. We want to throw that expectation out of the window.

At our event, it didn't matter when or where you are from. All that matters is that you have fun and have an amazing time with our service. All the rest was purely theatrics and entertainment. As stated on our main REFR page, we wanted to experiment with a way to get strangers to speak to each other as if they knew one another. I would have to say it worked. Once people got into the theme and mindset of what the event was, there were no bounds to what people did that aligned with our theme.

To give you an example, the prom king and the prom queen we crowned were complete strangers. We asked them to do a king and queen dance to Time After Time and our ActionBooth staff's jaw dropped when they both did an amazing rendition of the scene from Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. Now, at this time, I believe everyone started to think that this may have been staged. I can guarantee you that our minds were blown at how amazing this was.

One more example of the amazingness was that a break dance battle happened in the middle of our event. Let me repeat that. There was a sweet break dance battle that happened at our event. They commanded the attention of the rest of the guests with their moves. Collectively, everyone was thinking "I remember when I use to be able to do that." even though we all know that was way beyond our abilities. These fellas were talented.

Well, if you want to see more of the event, check out our gallery page. We have our images hosted there.

Thank you all, we had such an amazing time. I wanted to give everyone a hug for being so awesome.

Again, if you haven't gone to your ten year reunion yet but went to ours, my apologies.

WE RUINED YOUR EXPECTATIONS!

There is no better reunion than a reunion of strangers. What? I mean, thank you for coming out.

New Year's Eve!

ActionBooth said goodbye to 2012 and hooray for 2013 with an open bar, casino, and fireworks on Lake Michigan at the Entrepreneur's Eve swanky party at the Chicago Adler Planetarium! The Mars Rover Exhibit served as our backdrop, giving our guests the opportunity to jump in outer space! Fireworks erupted over the lake at midnight, and everyone toasted to a great new year with a glass of bubbling champagne!

Remember, don't forget to contact us to book ActionBooth for YOUR next event!
